[Clayart] welding gears

Professional  welders say it cannot be done.  The gear will not fit properly
In the shaft.

I went to machine shops.."sorry pal, you cannot do it."  O course I did not have the broken, mashed waste.  hard to fake the gear.
so.
I have a lovely walker, works a charm, but 20 below does not fit.

Most used gear motors have high rpm..that walker is like 90-1 ratio.
Slow and high torque.
I can see an old walker in the weeds behind some potters shed.
