Hi Alice,
What you describe is where the combined sodium and silica as Sodium
Silicate have or will soon begin to disassociate into a sloppy detritus of
solid particles,
Toss the stuff in the flower garden, it can be harsh on the sink or toilet
drains.

I don't slip cast these days, However, I use Darvan 11 when I wish to
deflocculate glazes. Unlike Sodium silicate, it is a very user friendly
and forgiving deflocculating agent. And it stores well.

Misneach,

David
Woof.........................................................................Now
trying to explain the difference between Defloccing and Defrocking.to my
Muse who is pretending that English is her second or third
language.........The spritely little Raven-Haired Vixen speaks several
languages fluently so she can play ignorant or cute or
both...........Perhaps what she really wants is a hands on demonstration of
Defrocking...................bet'cha saw that one coming
....Grin..................................................................................................................................
