Thanks Edouard that's interesting I have subbed redart in Richard Brusch Nutmeg glaze for years with no visual difference in glaze that I can tell. I do remove the iron it calls for. Don't get any running with sub. Works good in layering other Cone 6 glazes.

Redart is an earthenware clay, epk is a high temp clay used in porcelain, and high temp glazes. Melting point would be the most important aspect.
I have gone to half and half ball clay and epk for most high temp glazes. the cracks during drying have gone away forever.
I am sure ron or others can give you a more finite answer.
