Hi Carol - 
The surfaces on that vase are lovely, and the way the crystals overlap the
inlay glaze is particularly interesting.  It's like we are looking into a
deeper space.  You call those "small crystals," but they would fall into the
category of "macrocrystalline."  I don't know where the dividing line is
between microcrystalline and macrocrystalline.  I know that the classic
saturated iron kaki is microcrystalline, and our own Bill Schrann is a
respected practitioner of macrocrystalline glazes, but I've always wondered
how large the crystals must be to be considered macrocrystalline.
