Lovely bowl and spectacular closeups. I am currently visiting a friend on
the Klamath River in far Northern California, where the McKinney Fire came
through last year, so those colors have special relevance. The fire wiped
almost all structures along a ten-mile stretch of the river, but my friend's
place and his neighbor miraculously spared. No one was fighting the fire,
because the outside temperature that day was 115 and there were fierce
winds. Everyone had to evacuate the whole valley because of the intensity
of the firestorm. The barn between my friend's house and the neighbor did
burn, and my friend is currently rebuilding it.
