When I participated with, my wife in the Aomori Woodfire Festival in 2002 in Northern main Island of Japan , we saw one of the Korean potters create a 7 or 8 foot  tall. kimchi pot. It must have weighed a tov. Yhe sponsers built a small kiln of fire brick around it in their firing yard where there were multiple kilns and it was fired and the kiln taken down to get it out.
